Fever Pitch is Football For Funding’s annual charity event which was set up to raise much needed funds for local charities.

Returning for the second year after it’s hugely successful 2017 debut, Fever Pitch is excited to welcome the Tottenham Hotspur Legends to this year’s event.

Hosted at Homelands, the ground of Ashford United FC, the day will kick off at 10:15am with a Kid's Training Session led by former Gillingham player and Leicester City assistant manager Steve Butler. This will be followed with an abundance of entertainment and activities including a Bubble Football Tournament, Beat The Keeper Competition, Bouncy Castle and Face Painting - culminating in the mighty Amateur All-Stars vs Tottenham Legends showpiece.

Last year's event was a massive success, raising over £13,000.00 for our nominated charities and with your help we'll be aiming high again this year!

This year we will be raising funds for The Twinkling Stars Project. The Twinkling Stars Project was set up by three sisters in memory of Blake Bassett-Rogers, to build, furnish and fund a bereavement suite at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. As well as providing ongoing support for the new Twinkling Stars Suite, the Maternity Department is planning a number of projects including the refurbishment of the Counselling Room to make it less clinical and more welcoming.

Sadly, nationally over 100 babies die each week before, during or soon after birth. Women and their families who are living with a pregnancy loss are experiencing a unique form of grief, needing physical and psychological support from diagnosis right through to post delivery.

With the addition of the new Bereavement suite and the future improvements to be made in other areas, the aim is to offer support and care in the best possible environment for those that need it.

Kid's Coaching Session

The Tottenham Hotspur Legends are one of the most well supported charity teams in the country. With full support from the club itself, the team is jam packed of former players who have all played for the Tottenham first team. Led by 1984 UEFA Cup Winner Mark Falco, they travel up and down the country raising money for numerous charities. With regular players such as former England International Darren Anderton and double FA Cup and UEFA Cup winner Tony Galvin, the team draw crowds whenever they play. Although not shown in the squad below, former Spur Sean Davis recently made his Legend's team debut against Hastings Utd Vets.

Kids Coaching Session

The Kids Coaching Session will be an opportunity for children between the age of 5-15 years old to enjoy 60 minutes of football training in a fun relaxed atmosphere in a fantastic local stadium.

If you would like to sign your child up for this session then please email their name and age to iwantin@footballforfunding.org.uk. We will then email you a contact and consent form to fill in and return to us.

We only have a limited amount of spaces available so please register your interest quickly to grab a place. This training session, led by former Gillingham player and Leicester City assistant manager Steve Butler and another FA Qualified Coach is completely FREE, although we would love it if your child could try to raise some sponsorship too! One of our friendly event staff will be on hand before, during and after the session with a charity bucket to accept any money raised.

Could we please ask that all children with a confirmed space arrive at the ground at 10:00am latest ready for a 10:15am start.

The following footwear has been tried and tested and it is recommended as best to wear on the 3G surface:

Players are asked to make sure their boots are clean and mud-free before coming on to the pitch.

Bubble Football

We are now accepting team registrations for the hilarious Bubble Football Tournament.

• Each team will be made up of five players minimum with the option of adding substitutes. (We advise you do!)

• Games will be ten minutes long with no half time. Roll on, roll off substitutes. (You'll want to use these!)

• Teams will be guaranteed at least three games (30 minutes), more if you progress. (This will feel like a lot longer!)

• We must warn you......this is a LOT of fun!

Have we mentioned that 30 minutes is a LOT of Bubble Football? This is spectacular fun but is also hard work so prepare to use your subs well and see if your team can lift this year's Bubble Football Champions Trophy!

If you would like to enter a team (or two), please email us at iwantin@footballforfunding.org.uk to request your entry pack!

You don't have to be involved to have a great time at Fever Pitch though as we have plenty to keep you entertained! Please check the schedule for a list of main attractions but there will also be some surprises too!

Over the next week we will be updating the site with the latest news as we count down to the big day!
